Julia J. Peck concentrates her practice on complex commercial and business litigation, government investigations and regulatory work, and international arbitration.  She has experience before the state and federal trial courts in New York and other states, before various state and federal courts of appeals, as well as in domestic and international arbitration, and regularly advises domestic and international clients on a wide spectrum of pre-litigation, litigation, and enforcement matters.

Recent representative matters have included:

  • Coordinating the response to an SEC investigation for a Fortune 500 company involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; 
  • Representing the independent directors of a mutual fund in civil litigation involving the Investment Company and Investment Advisers Acts;
  • Serving as counsel in an ongoing $150 million ICC investor-state arbitration between a U.S. corporation and an African state;
  • Providing research and support to expert witness in a $500 million Stockholm Chamber of Commerce international arbitration concerning a foreign investment in an airport;
  • Providing research and support to expert witness in $4 billion bankruptcy proceeding in Canada involving international arbitration procedure;
  • Representation of a major international testing company in federal class action litigation and related bankruptcy proceedings; 
  • Providing research and support to expert witness in Singapore extradition proceedings involving U.S. and international law; 
  • Serving as pro bono amicus counsel on behalf of immigration rights organizations in pending matter before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Peck graduated from Yale Law School in 2004, and obtained her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Los Angeles. Ms. Peck was previously a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, in New York, where she worked on a wide range of complex commercial, securities, and corporate litigation matters and regulatory proceedings.

Ms. Peck is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York, and in the Second, Third and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal.  She is a member of the New York City, New York State, and American Bar Associations, and the Federal Bar Council.
