Overview
Juan A. Skirrow represents clients in domestic and international commercial disputes, with experience across multiple industries including finance, transportation, energy, construction, insurance, and technology, among others. He has successfully tried federal cases and prevailed on numerous motions, both on the papers and after oral arguments. Juan’s fluency in Spanish has been instrumental in managing complex matters across Latin America.
Juan’s litigation experience spans fraud and negligence claims, investment disputes, employment litigation, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, insurance coverage claims, bankruptcy, and white-collar defense. He also has experience conducting internal investigations, including those involving alleged FCPA violations in Latin America.
Before joining the firm, Juan began his legal career as an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.

- Represented venture capital defendants in a licensing agreement dispute and negotiated a settlement for a fraction of the face value of the guarantee at issue in the dispute.
- Represented Syngenta in its coverage litigation against hundreds of insurers seeking over $170 million against scores of insurers in connection with products liability claims alleging that Syngenta’s herbicide product contaminated water sources for over 50 years.
- Obtained dismissal of FELA injury claims totaling $20,000,000.00 in claimed damages.
- Represented an international testing company in a $500 million class action lawsuit arising from the explosion of a fuel-storage facility in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
- Defended former CFO of a publicly traded company in securities fraud litigation.
- Represented a major gaming company in its internal investigation of the purchase of a Chilean subsidiary; conducted interviews of witnesses in Spanish in Santiago, Chile.
- Represented Chevrolet automobile dealer in a bankruptcy-related dispute against General Motors Corp.
