Siddartha Rao Quoted in Bloomberg on Tariff Refund Disputes 

HNRK partner Siddartha Rao spoke with Bloomberg about the complex refund disputes emerging after the Supreme Court invalidated certain tariffs imposed under emergency powers. With the Court leaving the question of repayment unresolved, lower courts will now determine whether, and how, importers may recover more than $170 billion in duties.

Sid noted that the government may attempt to narrow refund eligibility or pursue a “labyrinthine” and time-consuming claims process, potentially delaying repayment for importers.
