Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP partner Miriam Manber has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under List for the fourth year in a row. The annual list highlights the most notable up-and-coming litigators from across the country who clients and peers have identified as the most promising emerging talent in litigation.

Miriam is a litigator and trial lawyer who handles commercial and employment disputes on behalf of a diverse client base, ranging from individuals to public agencies and multinational corporations. With experience in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations, she has won numerous favorable outcomes, including on dispositive motions, in jury and bench trials, and on appeal.

In the past year, Miriam represented the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and its affiliate agencies in several high-profile matters, including a multimillion-dollar, five-week jury trial challenging the New York City Subway’s speed policy. She also served on the team representing Syngenta in an insurance coverage matter, including securing a trial win over its primary insurer, Zurich American Insurance Company.

Throughout her career, Miriam has obtained, among other wins, a multimillion-dollar jury verdict on behalf of a foreign credit card issuer and acquirer pursuing breach of contract and conversion claims against a major credit card scheme; a bench trial verdict on behalf of a public agency, defeating a Federal Employers Liability Act claim; an arbitration award in favor of a small business owner unlawfully ousted by former co-owners; a precedent-setting appellate ruling on a Federal Railway Safety Act whistleblower claim; summary judgment and appellate wins in disputes over public construction contracts; and numerous pre-trial dismissals of employment discrimination claims against employers in a wide range of industries.

In addition to her litigation practice, Miriam is a valued advisor to clients on risk mitigation and litigation avoidance, often collaborating with transactional attorneys to provide litigation-sensitive guidance.

Among other honors, Miriam has also been recognized as a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Leadership Journal, a Leading Corporate Employment Lawyer by Lawdragon, and a Rising Star in Litigation by New York Super Lawyers.
