Lejla Hadzic Named a 2021 Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal
New York, NY–May 12, 2021–Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP associate Lejla Hadzic has been named to Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2021 Women Worth Watching list. The annual award celebrates outstanding women across the globe for their professional and community achievements.
At HNRK, Lejla brings a unique perspective to her international practice, representing companies large and small in a diverse range of complex business litigation matters including cross-border, discrimination, and insurance recovery disputes. She is currently representing a global company in two international arbitrations and in U.S. litigation: one to enforce a claim for insurance coverage for defense costs and settlement liability in excess of $700 million; and one defending the company against claims of fraud in an insurance contract. She was also a member of the team on a case involving an attempt by a sole competitor in a $300 million product market to drive her client out of the market on the claimed basis of an alleged material breach of a license agreement. Additionally, she represents the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in a variety of litigation matters, including two recent disputes related to alleged discrimination and constitutional rights claims.
Throughout her career, Lejla has also dedicated time to various pro bono matters. She has worked with Transparency International, a nonprofit organization working in over 100 countries to end corruption and promote transparency, accountability, and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society. She has also worked with the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., which serves underprivileged children with legal issues they should not have to face at such a young age. Lejla has also been involved in the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina—a human rights nonprofit dedicated to improving relations between the United States, Bosnia, and Herzegovina and advancing the interests of Bosnian Americans.
