Randi May Quoted in on the Implications of New York City’s New Law Requiring Bias Audits on AI Hiring Tools


Randi May, partner and head of HNRK’s Employment Group, spoke with about a new law going into effect in 2023 that bans New York City employers from using AI hiring tools unless they are annually audited for bias. Randi notes the onus for compliance surrounding this law should fall on the companies that develop and sell these AI tools too, and advises employers to ask AI tool providers what their intentions are and how they’re planning to comply with the law.
