Amory McAndrew Named to Crain’s New York Business’ Notable Women in Law List
Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP partner Amory McAndrew has been named to Crain’s New York Business’ 2023 Notable Women in Law list. This award honors women lawyers with distinguished careers who demonstrate exemplary leadership skills and a deep commitment to civic, philanthropic, and mentoring activities.
An employment lawyer and commercial litigator, Amory advises employers and executives on all aspects of the employment relationship. She counsels clients on best practices in connection with the full spectrum of employment issues, including developing handbooks; hiring and termination procedures; complying with wage-and-hour laws; granting accommodations under the ADA; and minimizing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Her clients vary in size from large businesses to startups, and span the retail, fashion, and technology industries. She also frequently represents executives in negotiating employment and separation agreements, and has become a pioneer in helping clients develop clear COVID-19 policies that avoid discrimination claims and costly litigation.
Amory spearheads HNRK’s Women’s Initiative, developing strategies that further the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and growth of junior talent. She also plays a significant role in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse lawyers and staff.
Outside of her work at the firm, Amory’s extensive community involvement includes her role as the vice chair of the Associates Committee of the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering, a volunteer-led organization dedicated to enhancing the patient care experience, supporting cancer research, and promoting public education on cancer. Additionally, Amory sits on the board of Tervis, a sustainable drinkware company, where she has been involved in planning Tervis’ launch of a recycled tumbler, where 100% of the proceeds support charities that protect our oceans.
