For the third consecutive year, Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP partners Damian Cavaleri, Helene Hechtkopf, and Miriam Manber have been named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers guide, recognizing “the nation’s best advisors on the world of employment and labor law.”

Damian represents businesses in employment disputes and complex commercial matters across New York’s state and federal courts, and advises clients on employment and separation agreements and non-competition covenants. In a landmark trade secrets case, he obtained the first seizure order ever issued under the Defend Trade Secrets Act on behalf of a financial services firm, and his team’s process for carrying out the seizure has since become a blueprint for others. Among other honors, Damian has been ranked by Chambers and Partners as a leading lawyer for Labor & Employment in New York, named an Employment Law Trailblazer and a Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal, and a Litigation Star and Labor and Employment Star by Benchmark Litigation.

Helene focuses her practice on a wide range of litigation, including commercial, employment, and construction matters, with significant experience defending employment cases under statutes such as Title VII, the ADA, and the Federal Railroad Safety Act. She has represented public and private entities from the start of a case through trial and appeal, including first-chairing bench and jury trials, and currently defends New York City Transit and the MTA in a long-running ADA class action over elevator outages. Helene is the former chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, and was named a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal, a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Leadership Journal, and has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under and Future Star lists.

Miriam handles commercial and employment disputes for a diverse client base ranging from individuals to public agencies and multinational corporations. With experience in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations, she has won numerous favorable outcomes, including on dispositive motions, in jury and bench trials, and on appeal. Miriam has secured numerous pre-trial dismissals of employment discrimination claims across industries, a bench trial verdict defeating a Federal Employers’ Liability Act claim against a public agency, and a precedent-setting appellate ruling under the Federal Railroad Safety Act’s whistleblower protections. Over the past year, she has represented the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and its affiliates in several high-profile matters, including a multimillion-dollar, five-week jury trial challenging the New York City subway’s speed policy. She has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under List for four consecutive years, recognized by Best Lawyers in America, and named a Rising Star in Litigation by New York Super Lawyers.
