Appellate Practice
HNRK’s Appellate practice handles high-stakes appeals in federal and New York state courts, pairing strategic judgment with seasoned appellate advocacy. We are often involved from the earliest stages of a case, helping preserve and position key issues at trial, through briefing and oral argument, with a clear focus on the record and the standards of review that drive appellate decisions.
We regularly litigate in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, representing parties in complex civil matters originating across the Tri-State area. The firm also frequently represents clients before the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, including the First Department (Manhattan and the broader New York City area) and the Second Department (Brooklyn and Queens), and has appeared numerous times before the New York State Court of Appeals, New York’s highest court. Our experience includes appeals from complex commercial litigation judgments, interlocutory appeals where available, and post-trial motions.
We also work closely with trial teams across the firm to shape strategy from the start, preserving appealable issues, refining legal themes, and building a record that supports the client’s goals on appeal.
